The people of Arizona recently voted to make abortion an issue which is decided by the voters, not the legislature or the courts. This means that as your State Representative, I cannot and will not be able to affect abortion laws. I was the first candidate in LD2 to call for the repeal of the 1864 territorial abortion law and I encouraged multiple ballot measures with different abortion policies to be sent to the people in order to have Arizonans decide the abortion laws of the land.
I always have and always will support access to IVF and birth control. Organizations like Future Freedoms should be ashamed of themselves for lying to voters and misleading them about my position.
A focus of mine as your Representative will be ensuring that young women facing the challenges of motherhood have all the support they need to choose life: including quality pre-natal care, parenting classes, and financial support where necessary.
Unfortunately, my opponent has decided to blatantly lie about my position on this issue in her television and streaming ads. It is honestly quite sad that politicians like Stephanie Simacek feel the need to lie about me in order to try and win an election.
