Open Source Policy

I am a believer in open sourcing code for most machines and materials that engage with public affairs. Our voting machines should not be using proprietary code. Our street cameras should not be using proprietary code. Information that is being used by the Government in regards to public affairs should be as transparent as possible.

As the owner of a tech consulting company, I cannot stress enough how easy it is to generate and hide manipulative code in a proprietary system. Additionally, multiple checks ought to be in place to ensure that the software running on these public machines is actually open source.
