Abortion is not an issue which ought to be decided by the State Court or the State Legislature. I am pro-life in my personal life and support competing ballot measures on abortion to have Arizonans decide which policy ought to be the law of the land.

I am pro-life in my personal life, but I recognize that this is not the position of most Arizonans. The people of Arizona have made it clear that abortion is an issue which should be decided by the voters, not the legislature or the courts. I support the immediate repeal of the 1864 territorial abortion law and encourage multiple ballot measures to be sent to the people in order to have Arizonans decide the abortion laws of the land. I will not overturn the will of the people regardless of what they choose despite my personal beliefs.

A focus of mine as your Representative will be ensuring that young women facing the challenges of motherhood have all the support they need to choose life: including quality pre-natal care, parenting classes, and financial support where necessary.

Election Policy https://ari.republican/election-policy/ Wed, 07 Feb 2024 20:27:21 +0000 https://ari.republican/?p=1869 We should aim to have free, fair, and transparent elections at every level. I will vote for and support legislation which seeks to enhance the integrity and security of our elections. We must expand voting centers, transparency, and election day accommodations. Neither Republicans nor Democrats should have any questions about the winner or loser of an election - and I will work towards this goal.

Stop BDS Policy https://ari.republican/stop-bds-policy/ Thu, 11 Jan 2024 21:06:19 +0000 https://ari.republican/?p=1835 The BDS movement seeks to isolate and delegitimize Israel through boycotts, divestment, and sanctions. We must protect Arizona’s relationship with Israel and Phoenix’s relationship with Ramat Gan.

As a candidate for the AZ State House, I am committed to opposing the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement and standing in support of the State of Israel.

The BDS movement is an anti-Semitic movement which seeks to isolate and delegitimize Israel through boycotts, divestment, and sanctions. I firmly oppose these efforts, as they undermine the prospects for peace and dialogue in the region. Arizona should reject the BDS movement and promote constructive engagement and cooperation with Israel.

I am dedicated to fostering and strengthening the mutually beneficial partnership between Arizona and Israel. Israel is a vital ally, sharing our values and contributing to various areas, including technology, security, and innovation.

Forest Conservation https://ari.republican/forest-conservation/ Sun, 03 Sep 2023 01:48:14 +0000 https://ari.republican/?p=1454 Arizona has lost over 14% of its tree cover since 2000, is facing a bark beetle epidemic, and has less than 50% of the forests outside of federal National Forest possession. We should be actively working to protect our forests and reverse the deforestation trends throughout northern Arizona.

The post Forest Conservation appeared first on Ari Bradshaw for State House.

Arizona has lost over 14% of its tree cover since 2000. In 2021, over 500,000 acres had observed bark beetle damage and over 400,000 acres had observed drought damage. The federal government currently manages over 50% of our forests as part of National Forest lands. I believe that Arizona must do a number of things in order to conserve our forests and beautiful natural environment at large:

  1. Convince the federal government to sell federal lands back to the state with provisions for environmental conservation
  2. Invest in measures to counter the bark beetle epidemic
  3. Research if afforestation would help alleviate the problem in select areas

Arizona’s forests are the center of our ecological diversity as a state. We can’t allow our forests to be destroyed and should actively be working to counter the devastating loss of tree cover over the past two-and-a-half decades.

Long-Term Water Sustainability https://ari.republican/water/ https://ari.republican/water/#respond Mon, 03 Apr 2023 00:31:31 +0000 https://ari.republican/?p=800 Water issues are at the forefront of the conversation when it comes to Arizona policy. We must invest in better sourcing methods, desalinization of our brackish groundwater, and long-term sustainability. Arizona ought to invest in more dams for reservoirs and policies that protect our groundwater from foreign extraction. I support Representative Kolodin's plan to create a statewide water market.

Water issues are at the forefront of the conversation when it comes to Arizona policy. We only have a decade or two left of sustainable water at current usage rates – and serious changes must be made in how we source and manage our water to ensure a long-term future for Arizona. While this problem could be addressed federally, the State of Arizona should invest in novel runoff systems while continuing to pressure California to renegotiate its usage in the Colorado River Compact.

Desalinization efforts in Yuma and in our neighbor states should receive more federal funding to reduce the impact on our limited local sources. Additionally, we should invest in desalinization efforts that tackle our brackish groundwater. Desalinating brackish groundwater is a far cheaper and more efficient process than desalinating seawater.

What has happened in our rural counties where the rivers have dried up or at Lake Powell is horrifying. If we don’t start taking serious steps to address the water issues in Arizona, we won’t have an Arizona.

As your State Representative, long-term water sustainability will always be one of my top priorities. On day one I will introduce Bills to directly tackle our water issues and fight for a sustainable future.

Modern Education https://ari.republican/modern-education/ https://ari.republican/modern-education/#respond Fri, 03 Feb 2023 18:38:24 +0000 https://ari.republican/?p=690 The education system in Arizona should take a look at current incentive structures, engage in a a comprehensive evaluation of federal spending, and focus on programs that demonstrate positive results. The ultimate goal should be to produce individuals who are equipped to compete on a global stage and contribute to society. I am prepared to work with Justine Wadsack, David Marshall, and other colleagues on creating the best education system in America. At the end of the day, this means well-funded schools with accountability at all levels.

The post Modern Education appeared first on Ari Bradshaw for State House.

]]>
Elements of the current education system in America are not adequate for producing well-rounded and competitive individuals in the modern workforce. One-size-fits-all approaches are problematic and do not take into consideration the diverse needs and abilities of students. Arizona should ensure that we have excellent public, private, and charter schools with appropriate accountability at all levels.

The education system’s incentive structure may need to be overhauled. The competitive academic environments that once existed have been replaced with a culture of “participation awards.” Arizona should incentivize students to excel in their areas of passion while also providing support and resources to do so. Our students shouldn’t be failing standardized tests where they are used and where other states are succeeding.

A comprehensive evaluation of the government’s education spending is necessary to ensure that funds are being allocated in a way that prioritizes the needs of teachers, parents, and students. Despite high per capita spending on education, the outcomes are not on par with other developed countries or even our fellow States. Funds should be redirected from ineffective programs to those that demonstrate positive results.

The government should not dictate curricula, but it has a responsibility to ensure that the education system produces individuals who are equipped to compete on a global stage and contribute to society. This requires well-compensated teachers, a thriving and competitive educational environment, the elimination of special interest-driven projects, and investment in evidence-based programs.

I am proudly endorsed by the Arizona House Education Vice Chair, Representative David Marshall.

Those who serve this nation are those who we are most indebted to and those who deserve the best possible support. Cybersecurity https://ari.republican/cybersecurity/ https://ari.republican/cybersecurity/#respond Sun, 27 Nov 2022 07:57:36 +0000 https://ari.republican/?p=471 Our government is falling behind when it comes to technological competence. We need a Representative who understands modern technology and cybersecurity and who can put forth policies that protect our nation's grid, data, financial markets, and infrastructure.

The post Cybersecurity appeared first on Ari Bradshaw for State House.

]]>
Cybersecurity is paramount to an effective national defense alongside individual and economic liberty. We need to have Representatives who understand what is going on at the cutting edge level of cybersecurity and technology. I didn’t return to my 6th grade school in large part because I had hacked into Scottsdale Unified School District’s password registry. I started ROM hacking when I was eleven years old. My small business engages in tech consulting. I concern myself with digital affairs and am wary of the weak points in our current systems.

When elected, I will proudly fight to enhance the Arizona’s cybersecurity policy and hold fellow elected officials accountable when it comes to our collective defense. Watching the Senate and Congressional hearings on tech-related issues is mind-blowing because most of our elected officials have zero idea what they are talking about when it comes to modern technology or cybersecurity. It was a national embarrassment when we had to pay a random for one of our pipelines which was closed by cyberterrorists. I will put forth and support policies that keep our State and our Nation’s grid, data, financial markets, and infrastructure safe.

“Made in America” Tax Credits https://ari.republican/made-in-america-tax-credits/ https://ari.republican/made-in-america-tax-credits/#respond Sun, 27 Nov 2022 00:43:40 +0000 https://ari.republican/?p=457 There ought to be financial incentives for companies to produce domestically. Outsourcing our production and labor has overall been a net negative for Americans. Especially important products like microchips and pharmaceuticals should be produced in America - not abroad.

The post “Made in America” Tax Credits appeared first on Ari Bradshaw for State House.

President Trump was staunchly in favor of a “Made in America” tax credit program that benefits companies who produce their products domestically. I am in complete support of expanding this idea. American companies should be incentivized to do the majority of their work in America with American workers. The more self-sufficient we are as a nation, the more secure we are and the more secure our next generation shall be. We ought to stop State contracts to CCP-owned companies as well.

School Choice https://ari.republican/better-education-school-choice/ https://ari.republican/better-education-school-choice/#respond Sun, 27 Nov 2022 00:28:02 +0000 https://ari.republican/?p=450 We must take a serious look at the failures of the Department of Education over the past four decades and make appropriate changes. Every child deserves the best possible education and choices in pursuit of that education. We should empower the parent and keep both the state and federal government out of curricula-related decisions.

The post School Choice appeared first on Ari Bradshaw for State House.

Our federal government should not push a “one-size-fits-all” solution to our education system. Local communities know how best to raise their children. Wherever possible, we should encourage the money to follow the student. The State government should take a serious look at the failure of the Department of Education to produce positive results over the past four decades and we should incentivize the creation and expansion of charter, religious, and private schools while increasing the quality of our public schools. Every child deserves a top-notch education and broad choice in pursuit of that education. Additionally, each classroom should have the resources necessary to successfully educate the next generation. I will oppose any and all attempts by the State or Federal government to take over curricula.

My life was in many ways saved by School Choice. I was not doing well at the school that I was zoned for and was able to get in to a private school on a scholarship. I began succeeding at the new school and they even paid for my college applications – paving the way for me, the son of a single mother on welfare, to attend college. I believe that all parents, teachers, and students deserve choice in their education. Whether you want your children to receive a STEM-oriented education from schools like BASIS, an arts-oriented education from schools like Arizona School for the Arts, or a traditional public school experience from schools like Deer Valley High – various options should be available. Scholarships and opportunities should not be taken away from families who receive them, but rather expanded to more families that could use them.
